battery relocation question

I have looked through the electrical tech section but still have some questions. I was wondering why i can't just run a 30 amp inline fuse to the starter without using the circuit breaker? Assuming I do not touch the stock fuseable link that our cars have......And another thing...Do i really need a kill switch if I do not take it to the track often?

i meant a 2pole fuse running to both the starter and alternator...which i guess makes it a circuit breaker

Assuming you mean the starter power feed 30 amps is not going to be anywhere near enough. Besides, overcurrent protection is supposed to be selected based on the ampacity of the conductor, not the load. Put in simple terms fuses are there to protect the wiring, not what it's connected to. Size the conductor to the load first, then the overcurrent protection to the conductor, and place it as close to the power source as possible.
